Warriors will be holding out Spring Open House on Wednesday, February 8th at the Tuckahoe Library.  The open house will be held from 7-8.  There will be a brief information session at 7:15 and then general Q&A to follow.  Coaches will be on hand, Warriors Apparel will be sold, and sample equipment will be on show for the newcomers to the sport.

Warriors Lacrosse is pleased to open our 2012 Spring Lacrosse Season Registration.  We are anticipating another great season with growth.  Warriors Lacrosse will have the following teams:

Boys                                                            Girls
2 - u-15 (7th and 8th grades)           1 - Girls Middle School (5th through 8th grades)
2 - u-13(born on or after 3/1/99,      1 - Girls High School Varsity
6th and 7th graders)
1 - High school Varsity                      1 - Girls High School JV (TBD)
1 - High School JV

Costs for the Spring 2011 season are as follows:
Any boys program - $225.00
Any girls program - $195.00


How the teams will be broken up:
High School Boys – This will be run much like a typical high school sports team and it is not a pay for participation.
Middle School Boys – The u-15 teams will be split by future high schools.  There will be a Godwin based and Deep Run based team with other high schools sprinkled in to even out the numbers.
High School Girls - This will be run much like a typical high school sports team and it is not a pay for participation.
Middle School Girls – Depending on how many young ladies sign up, we will either have the teams split up by middle school or two equal teams.
 

Practices will start on the following dates:
Middle School boys - Practices will be held on Sunday, February 19th, Sunday, February 26th, and then every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday starting on Monday, February 27th.  Once games start it will be up to the coaches.
High School Boys - Practices will begin on Monday, February 27th at 5:00 pm at a location to be determined.  Practices will be held every weekday.
Middle School Girls - Monday, February 27^th at 5:00pm
High School girls - Monday, February 27th at 5:00 pm.

Games:
Games will be played at local area fields.  Our home field has typically been Va. Randolph which is at the intersection of Woodman and Mountain Roads.  Away games could be as far away as Williamsburg and Swift Creek areas.  As games are scheduled, they will be posted to the website.  All of the middle school boys players will be playing a minimum of 10 games plus an end of the year tournament at the Hanover Havoc.

Please call the Warriors Lacrosse Hotline for practice/game cancellations, updates on field conditions, and changes/notes about the day's schedule.  The hotline number is 398-1250.  Here are a few things to keep in mind about the hotline:

• Messages for that day's events will be updated by 3:15 pm on that day.  We will do everything we can to update the message as early as possible, however, the county has until 3:00 pm to make a decision for that day. 
• If it is after 3:15 pm and there is no message for that day, then that means there are no cancellations to report and games and practices will be held as scheduled.  The hotline is only updated when needed, therefore, there will not be a new message every day.  If you call before 3:15 and there is an old message on the hotline, it may be best to check back around 3:15 to make sure a new message for that day has not been posted.
• Cancellations are based on field conditions, not the weather.  This means that if fields are saturated after a day or two of rain, the field may be closed even if it is sunny and nice.  Also, if it is raining at the start of the game but the field is open and in good condition, the game/practice will be held in the rain (as long as there is no thunder/lightning).
• The hotline is the best source of information for Warriors Lacrosse.  There are county hotlines that some people call, but that will not give all of the information necessary.  Locations, times, and plans may be changed based on field conditions, so it is always best to check our hotline and use that information. 
• If time allows, we may send out email messages and put a message on the website, but this is not always the case.  Call the hotline when in doubt.
